Even though our shrink gun systems will operate on either bottled Butane (blue cylinder), or Propane (red cylinder). ShrinKit recommends Propane as Butane does not perform well in lower ambient conditions. When operating in temperatures around and lower than freezing, the gas will stay in its liquid form and there will not be enough pressure to release it.
Butane cylinder sizes only go up to 15KG, where the Propane cylinder size goes on with a 19KG and a 47KG.
The pol nut is different on the regulator for a Butane cylinder. This is why we advise our customers to use bottled Propane Gas.
